Coaching Education Program Overview
License Course Pathway
U.S. Soccer, U.S. Youth Soccer and NSCAA do not officially recognize any 'equivalent' licenses - foreign or domestic. In addition, as of February 14, 2015 - NSCAA courses may not be used to gain entry into the US Soccer pathway. Each Coaching License pathway is now separate.

For these reasons, it is more are more common to take courses from both pathways.
Where Should I Begin?...........
License Course Recommendations for Clubs and Coaches
All coaches must begin at the 'F' license level or meet the following waiver requirements;
Coaches with little or no experience may begin their educational journey by beginning with the Level 1 - 3. Coaches with significant playing experience and/or coaching experience may begin Level 4 - 6 or National Diploma.
We would certainly encourage all coaches to do all beginning level courses, however if you must choose one, be realistic with your background and experience in the sport.
(1) If you have limited playing experience at a competitive level (did not play in College or beyond) and have little to no coaching experience, begin with:
'F' License AND Youth Module II or Youth Module I
NSCAA Level 1, 2 or 3 diploma.
(2) If you have competitive playing experience (College or beyond) and have 1-2 years soccer coaching experience, begin with the 'F' license OR NSCAA Level 4 through 6 diplomas....... or National Diploma.
