
OSYSA Annual Awards
Congratulations to the 2011 Ohio South Youth Soccer Award winners!! Khamla Ramont has been awarded the 2011 Ohio South Boys Competitive Coach of the Year. Ramont is a fair-minded coach through Butler United Soccer Club who teaches all of his players to treat each other and other teams with respect. With his dedication and knowledge of the game, he proves to be an excellent role model. He is a great motivator and challenges the boys to develop and grow as players. He works one-on-one with his players to ensure that he gets to know them and provide them with the best opportunity for improvement. Ramont also has a strong volunteer and charitable history giving to underprivileged kids. Girls Competitive Coach of the Year - Keri Heedum Keri Heedum has been awarded the 2011 Ohio South Girls Competitive Coach of the Year. Heedum currently coaches the Hammer FC U11 and U12 Elite teams. Leading by example, she encourages sportsmanship by focusing on respect to one another. Heedum has a positive attitude and challenges her players to the best of their potential. She is also organized and dedicated, often seeking education from high-level matches. She has a strong involvement with Xavier soccer, including organizing the first annual Breast Cancer Awareness Match, serving meals with the team at homeless shelters, arranging ball girls for the games, and providing training sessions at Xavier for her Hammer FC teams. Volunteer of the Year - Gerry Kleinwaechter

Gerry Kleinwaechter has been awarded the 2011 Ohio South Volunteer of the Year. Kleinwaechter is a member of the Bellbrook Soccer Association and has been a volunteer, coach, organizer, and groundskeeper for over 10 years. He exhibits his dedication to the game by always being first at the fields whenever soccer is being played. Even when faced with life’s tough challenges, Kleinwaechter proves to be earnest and hardworking. His leadership has resulted in him being one of the most requested coaches of Bellbrook Soccer Association by parents and players alike.
Administrator of the Year - Mike Cook

Mike Cook has been awarded the 2011 Ohio South Administrator of the Year. Cook is the President of Cincinnati Soccer Alliance and has been an administrator, coach, and volunteer for more than thirteen years. He was also integral to the formation of CSA in 2007, which included the merger of MTSC and the Loveland Soccer Club. Since 2002, Cook has worked extensively with CSA’s Dog Days of Summer Tournament. His love for the game is evident and is instilled in all of his players as Mike’s first coached team has 90% of the team continuing on to play in college.

OSYSA Girls Recreational Coach of the Year, John Haskins
John Haskins has been awarded the 2011 Ohio South Girls Recreation Coach of the Year. Haskins is the coach of the Hilliard Ohio Soccer Association U8 Sandcats. He has been playing soccer his entire life and has a true passion for the game. He spends extra time with each of his players, making sure they understand the fundamentals of soccer. He coaches in an enjoyable and exciting environment, while still being able to involve everyone and work as a team. Through the time he has coached the Sandcats, he has inspired confidence in the girls and has allowed them to learn at a very high level.
Female Referee of the Year - Kati Molnar

Young Referee of the Year, Kati Molnar
Kati Molnar has been awarded the 2011 Female Young Referee of the Year. At the age of 17, she is a youth referee for DASOA in addition to being the Center Official in the Boys U11 State Cup Finals. She was also an assistant referee at the Warrior Classic Final in 2009 and 2010. Kati is an International Baccalaureate Diploma Candidate, National Merit Scholar, and a member of the National Honor Society. She has also been an Ohio Model United Nations Participant and a member of student council since 2008.
Male Referee of the Year - Lakmal Ekanayake

Young Referee of the Year, Lakmal Ekanayake
Lakmal Ekanayake has been awarded the 2011 Male Young Referee of the Year. At the age of 16, Lakmal has already officiated three state cup tournaments and is a member of eight Ohio South State Referee Committee (OSSRC) Referee Academies. In 2010, when he was a junior, Lakmal was awarded 2nd Team All-Cincinnati Hills League as well as being the varsity captain at Mariemont High School. He also has been on the Merit Roll (GPA 3.2-3.99) for all twelve quarters that he has attended high school. Lakmal is a member of Student Council and was nominated for Leadership Council.
Boys Recreational Coach of the Year - Ron & Michelle Blankenship
Ron and Michelle Blankenship have been awarded the 2011 Ohio South Boys Recreation Coaches of the Year. Together, Ron and Michelle coach a U8 and Jr. High School team through Pickerington Area Soccer Association. During practice, both of them encourage physical activity and assist in developing skills and strategies for the game. They emphasize the importance of the team rather than of individuals, and hold practices that the players enjoy, while still keeping them engaged. They recognize sportsmanship on and off the field, and develop players to their fullest potential as athletes and people.
